The European Union's top diplomat says an attempted attack on a German airport blamed on Russia appears to be “state-sponsored terrorism.” The German government has accused Russia of the attempted attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport last month using a drone with explosives. Officials defused the device near a Ukrainian plane on Aug. 4. The EU is considering its response, while Germany is shutting down a Russian consulate. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas says the bloc is planning more sanctions over Russia's war on Ukraine. The EU has already imposed several rounds of measures targeting thousands of people and entities linked to Russia.
