Crash at SR28 Near Village Parkway

Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of the person killed in a crash on U.S. 50 near Mark Twain Avenue between Dayton and Silver Springs Sunday night.

NHP says just before 8 p.m., 63-year-old John Elvis Jones of Dayton was hit after dismounting his Bombardier ATV.  

NHP says a preliminary investigation shows a black 2013 Dodge Journey was traveling west on US-50 in the far right travel lane west of Mark Twain Avenue when it hit Jones.

Jones died on scene. 

The crash is still under investigation.

Troopers also say they are *not looking for a burgundy/red car originally reported to be connected to the case. Troopers say that person came forward and authorities determined that they were not involved in the crash.
