The North Tahoe Fire Protection District says crews responded to a house fire on Fir Place near Tahoe Vista on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said there was wildland involvement but forward progress was stopped.
They said crews are still working on the home mopping up.
Officials said no one was inside the house at the time.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area until further notice.
There's no word on the cause of the fire at this time.
