The Northern Nevada Pride Festival and CommUNITY Paradewill take over downtown Reno Saturday.
The event is presented by and benefiting the local non-profit organization Our Center, Northern Nevada’s only LGBTQ community center.
In 2016, 7,000 people turned out for the event and more than $20,000 was raised for Our Center.The CommUNITY Pride Parade kicks off at 11:00 a.m. on California Avenue at Humboldt Street and they will march to Arlington Avenue.Following the march, The Northern Nevada Pride Festival will take place in Wingfield Park starting at noon and running through 7 p.m.The event is open to all ages and will feature art, music, booths, and entertainment.There is no entry-fee for the event; however donations are accepted at the entry locations.Mayor Hillary Schieve has proclaimed the day, Saturday, July 22, 2017 as “Northern Nevada Pride Day”. Governor Brian Sandoval has issued a Certificate of Recognition to Northern Nevada Pride “in recognition of your commitment to our community”.
