Old Granite Street Eatery and Rounds Bakery have merged into one delicious business called the Life Tastes Good Company.Â
Specifically, Stanley Restaurant Group, owners of Old Granite Street Eatery and Rue Bourbon, have merged with Sterling Group Nevada, the parent company of Rounds Bakery, to form the Life Tastes Good Company which will focus on new community needs arising during COVID-19.
The merger is estimated to be worth $10 million. "There is no doubt the pandemic has hurt the food industry," says owner Kevin Stanley. "But paralysis is not an option. Just as we pivoted to open an essential market on the day Nevada’s governor shut down restaurants, we see that COVID has created new consumer demands that our new alliance is perfectly situated to meet."
The four partners of the Life Tastes Good Company, Anton Novak, Sean Cary, Kevin Stanley, and Kaya Stanley first met when they started Feed Our Heroes, a charity that subsidized hard-hit restaurant owners while serving over 65,000 meals to front line health care workers and first responders during the COVID shutdown.Â
In the short-term, the Life Tastes Good Company will continue to focus on helping bars, coffee shops, ski resorts, hotels, and other venues optimize their revenue by installing markets and private labeling grab-n-go foods from its wholesale kitchen. The company hinted at a new flagship location that will open in early 2021.
In the interim, customers are encouraged to shop online at RoundsBakery.com or visit its retail outlet at Old Granite Street Eatery located at 243 S Sierra St. in Reno’s historic Riverwalk District, where an assortment of fresh baked goods and grab-n-go options are available.
