UPDATE: Tahoe Douglas Fire says crews are still on scene mitigating a chlorine gas leak with a HazMat response team.
They said the road at Elks Point Road near Zephyr Cove will remain closed for another two to three hours.
They said there are no other safety concerns at this time but the area should be avoided.
Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.

Tahoe Douglas Fire says a portion of Elks Point Road near Zephyr Cove is closed for a possible hazmat incident involving chlorine gas.Â
They say the issue is isolated to one building, near the Safeway shopping center.Â
A safety perimeter is set up while crews clear the scene.Â
