On Tuesday, one Reno Police Officer was honored with the Congressional Badge of Honor by Senator Dean Heller.
Officer German Rodriguez was presented with the honor with members from police department and the Rodriguez family in attendanceÂ

Back in 2013 Officer Rodriguez was off duty when he came across a bank robbery in progress that resulted in one man being shot and killed. Rodriguez who was unarmed at the time, was able to follow the suspect, disarm him, and keep him from harming others until officers arrived.
The Congressional Badge of Bravery can be awarded to any law enforcement officer who puts himself at risk while performing an act of bravery.
