2nd Child Luring Incident Leads to Arrest

Reno Police are investigating after a local family had their dog's ashes stolen from their porch.

"You can steal a package from Amazon and it is an absolute frustrating event but when you steal something like a family member, you've hurt my entire family, most notably my child and it's personal.”

Laura LaMere says their family dog was cremated after recently passing away and the package containing her ashes was taken earlier this month.

She recommends anyone who is expecting an important delivery be.

"If you have a package that means something to you that's irreplaceable, I would highly recommend that you demand a signature to release that package to you.  Or if it's local drive to that particular business, in this case the crematory, and pick it up yourself."

The Reno Police Department offers these additional tips to prevent possible package thefts:

•         Report any suspicious vehicles following delivery trucks through neighborhoods

•         Report any suspicious people walking or riding bikes in residential areas

•         If able, have your packages delivered to your place of employment

•         Request to have your package help at the delivery companies warehouse

•         Have your package delivered to an alternate address where you know someone you trust will be to accept it

•         If you are going to be home, request the delivery company knock or ring your doorbell to notify you that your package has just been dropped off
