Reno Police Seek Full-Time Public Safety Dispatchers

Reno Emergency Communications is currently accepting applications for full-time Public Safety Dispatchers for the Regional Emergency Communications Center.  Dispatchers with Reno Emergency Communications work closely with multiple regional public safety agencies, including the Reno Police and Fire Departments, to effectively receive, triage and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls for service from citizens and then dispatch first responders.

Public Safety Dispatchers often face high stress situations on the phone and over radio communications with first responders.  Some of the minimum requirements to apply for these positions include proof of typing proficiency of 45 words per minute (corrected), high school diploma or GED, and is able to pass a background investigation that includes medical and psychological screening.

Applications will only be accepted until 5:00 pm on February 9, 2015.
