RSCVA Board Approves CEO Merit Increase, Bonus

The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA) Board of Directors today approved a 10% merit increase and a $100,000 bonus for RSCVA President & CEO Phil DeLone. 

The governing body of the RSCVA elected to award the President and CEO with the entirety of his 40% bonus structure after the board decided he achieved his annual goals. 

In relation to DeLone’s performance, the board set the following quantitative goals for Fiscal Year 2017-2018:

•         Exceed 1,245,000 room nights from target markets: Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco Bay Area

•         Produce 260,000 future room nights via meetings, conventions, trade show and sporting event sales

•         Maintain exemplary ratings for client satisfaction (as reported by clients)

•         Achieve Board approval of a facilities management contract

•         Establish employee engagement and satisfaction (as reported by employees)

•         Maintain 5% margin for the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 budget

During the merit evaluation process, 62.5% of the Board “Strongly Agreed” and 37.5% of the Board “Agreed” that DeLone had, in fact, “built a solid executive management team.”
