SnowGlobe Music Festival Underway in South Lake Tahoe

Every winter, thousands gather in South Lake Tahoe to ring in the New Year at the Snowglobe Music Festival.

With such large crowds and very cold weather conditions, staying warm becomes a top priority.

Chad Donnelly is the founder behind the 5th year music show, and every year he says he's developing plans to make the experience better, especially when it comes to safety.

He says he can't stress enough how important it is to dress appropriately.

"It's sunny during the daytime, so they dress for the sun, and obviously the nightfall comes in and it changes the environment, so I think how you’re dressed really dictates just exactly how much fun you can have," says Donnelly.

This year he's arranged for 50 shuttle buses to take people to and from the event.

A medical staff will also be on hand to tend for any injuries or health related issues.

Police chief Brian Uhler says South Lake Tahoe officers, along with 155 security members, will be at the venue keeping an eye out for any illegal activity and illegal substances.

Uhler says he expects the biggest threat to patrons to come from the weather.

"We're expecting the weather to be in the teens so getting safely to and from the Snowglobe event is of paramount importance," says Uhler.
