Save Mart Matches In-Store Donations to Food Banks

Save Mart Supermarkets say they will match in-store donations on Friday, December 9 to two local food banks. 

For over a month, Save Mart says shoppers in the northern Nevada area have been able to donate to these organizations at checkout through our Give. Share. CARE! Holiday Drive, but for this one special day, they say the donations made at their seven area stores will be matched up to $5,000 and will be donated to Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Ron Wood Family Resource Center. 

For Food Bank of Northern Nevada, customers can visit the following stores in Reno and Sparks:

Save Mart will match up to $3,000

• 525 Keystone Avenue, Reno
• 4995 Kietzke Lane, Reno
• 10500 North McCarran, Reno
• 195 West Plumb Lane, Reno
• 9750 Pyramid lakes Highway, Sparks

For the Ron Wood Family Resource Center, customers can visit the following stores in Carson City:

Save Mart will match up to $2,000

• 4348 South Carson Street, Carson City
• 3620 North Carson Street, Carson City

They say shoppers can choose donation coupons at the cash register marked $2 for breakfast, $3 for lunch and $5 for dinner and that donations are tax deductible and noted on grocery receipts. During last year’s Match Day, Save Mart says they raised $7,299, and in an unusual move, Save Mart went above the $5,000 matching cap and matched the entire $7,299.

If shoppers can’t make Friday for matching day, the in-store campaign continues, without the  matching donation until December 27.
