One man is dead, and another man is injured after an all-terrain vehicle accident near Pyramid Highway north of Sparks on Friday afternoon.

It’s getting to be that time of year again when dirt bike and ATV (all-terrain vehicle) riders head out to explore and enjoy the great outdoors.

Due to the long distance between some of the existing mussel beds and access roads, crews are using ATVs as needed to transport the mussels to reduce stress the mussels.

Elko County authorities suspect speed and alcohol contributed to a collision of all-terrain vehicles that left one man dead and three others seriously injured in northeast Nevada.
