Deputies: 1 Man Dead, Another Man Injured in ATV Crash Near Pyramid Highway

One man is dead, and another man is injured after an all-terrain vehicle accident near Pyramid Highway north of Sparks on Friday afternoon. 

Washoe County Deputies say authorities responded to the off-road vehicle accident in a  remote, steep and rugged area, near Moon Rocks just after 3:15 p.m. 

Deputies say two men were riding the ATV when it crashed. 

One man was airlifted by RAVEN and taken to the pictured command post at Moon Rocks where he was transferred to a Care Flight helicopter and taken to a local hospital. 

The other man died on scene. 

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, along with about 20 volunteers from the HASTY team, Washoe County Search and Rescue are on helping.Â
