A powerful electromagnetic storm brought the Northern Lights to many states across the country Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, including Nevada.

The strange sight prompted a flurry of speculation on our social media.
A number of 2 News Nevada viewers shared pictures of comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas in the skies over northern Nevada on Monday. The comet will be visible around an hour after sunset in the western sky through the end of October.
Once there, the spacecraft will orbit the giant gas planet, sneaking close to Europa during dozens of flybys.
