Rain in the valleys and snow in the mountains are keeping roads slick, and some highways are closed.
Our snowpack is growing thanks to our most recent storms which were loaded with moisture.
The National Weather Service says Southern California could get as much as 6 inches of rain in the mountains and 3 inches in coastal areas and valleys.
Travel will be treacherous throughout the entirety of the storm, especially in the high Sierra along our mountain passes.
Bring rain gear if you plan on doing anything outside this weekend, as an atmospheric river moves through the region.
Up to 16 inches of rain was forecast in Northern California and southwestern Oregon through Friday.
It will mainly affect northern California and the Pacific Northwest, but it will be close enough to Reno to feel some impacts.
