Police say a mass overdose at a house in Chico that killed one man and left four people in critical condition appears to have been largely caused by the dangerous opiate fentanyl, the Enterprise Record reports. 

Louis G. Damonte was born on May 21, 1943 to Ben and Eva (Curti) Damonte in Reno Nevada.  He died peacefully on September 18, 2018 surrounded by loved ones, after a long and courageous battle with multiple health problems.

The Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Board unanimously voted to approve the development of an affordable housing strategy to be included in the 2017 regional plan update.  This comes after months of efforts from several local organizations who banded together to create what they called "A Road Map to Affordable Housing."
