The National Park Service says a missing hiker's body was found along the route of Mt. Darwin in Kings Canyon National Park on Thursday. They said 40-year-old Alan Stringer was reported missing by family members on Monday.

UPDATE: The National Park Service reports that Stephen McGuire, the missing hiker from Washington, has been found. He was contacted by National Park Service Rangers at Devils Postpile National Monument on Monday, May 28 after he had hiked into the area. He was tired and hungry but did not need emergency assistance.
After an extensive search by teams from multiple agencies, the remains of Tomas Martinez, 18, from Woodlake, California was recovered Monday afternoon.
California's biggest blaze expanded further overnight and came closer to a small development in Kings Canyon National Park that houses rangers headquarters, campgrounds, a lodge, a store and a restaurant. The Rough Fire is burning in Fresno County.
