Flu cases are on the rise in northern Nevada, with 10% of all visits to urgent care or emergency rooms due to the illness.
Nationally, the CDC estimates at least 4.6 million cases, 49,000 hospitalizations, and 1,900 deaths from flu so far this season.
With the holidays upon us, illnesses are still making their way around the community.
While many people are probably suffering from allergies in the spring blooms, others are fully getting sick. Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center says they're seeing quite a few respiratory illnesses such as influenza.
