Douglas County workers have been busy gearing up for possible flooding this weekend, and county officials are urging residents to help do their part.

Hydrography
On Friday, crews began pumping floodwater out of neighborhoods and roadways, into Swan Lake. Approximately 100 acre feet of water was being pumped out of the flooded Palace Drive area on Friday.

On Tuesday afternoon, local, state and federal officials say while they recognize these have been trying times for residents, they are relieved to announce some temporary flooding solutions. The most notable temporary solution is the installation of a protective barrier.
