A pair of black bear cubs captured by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife after their parent was euthanized have been taken to the Gold Creek Wildlife Rescue in Auburn, California.

Alpine County is able to install about 300 bear cages in approved areas along the East Slope thanks to funding.
