Sparks Woman Found Guilty of Felony Child Neglect

Kristle Ann Wilson

A Sparks mother faces up to six years in prison after a jury found her guilty Thursday of neglecting her four-and-a-half-month-old infant.

Jurors found Kristle Ann Wilson guilty after one hour of deliberation in Second Judicial District Court in Reno.

Prosecutors say Wilson went to WIC (Women, Infants and Children) last September to get help for her child. A doctor at the HAWC Clinic looked at the baby and asked for the child to be taken to Renown Regional Medical Center. Once there, it was discovered that the infant lost significant weight.

Prosecutors say the felony child neglect happened in Sparks, where Wilson lived with her 15-year-old daughter.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 14.
