Angel Reese blamed herself for a poor performance in Game 4 on Saturday after opening the WNBA Finals with three consecutive double-doubles. Reese was held to eight points, making only 2 of 12 shots from the field, and grabbed nine rebounds in the Atlanta Dream’s 67-62 loss to the Golden State Valkyries that evened the series at 2-2. Reese says: “I rushed a lot on my shots and I didn’t take my time and finish around the basket like I’ve been doing the last three games.” Reese blocked three shots but had six of Atlanta’s 17 turnovers.
Lineup switch by coach Natalie Nakase works out as Valkyries even WNBA Finals series with Dream at 2
Much like Warriors coach Steve Kerr did in 2015 moving Andre Iguodala into Golden State's starting lineup against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to win the NBA franchise's first championship in 40 years, Natalie Nakase shook up the Golden State Valkyries' starters for Game 4 of the WNBA Finals against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream. It paid off with her Valkyries evening the best-of-seven series at 2 games apiece as it heads back to the Bay Area for Game 5 on Monday night.
