Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows plan to open ahead of schedule after nearly two feet of snow fell over the last week, including six inches of snow Monday.Â
Alpine Meadows will be celebrating one of the earliest openings in its history, opening over a month ahead of schedule on November 12th. Squaw Valley is set to open eleven days ahead of schedule on November 14th.Â
Both resorts attribute their early season opening to "optimal snowmaking temperatures and around the clock commitment"
