The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says a Stockton man was sentenced to ten years for trafficking narcotics and a related dissuading a witness charge.

Officials said 39-year-old Reginald Miller pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking of a schedule I controlled substance and one count of preventing or dissuading a witness from testifying in November 2019.

They said he was sentenced earlier this week to maximum consecutive terms totaling ten years in prison. Officials said Miller must serve four years in prison before parole eligibility begins.

They said the case began in July 2019 when detectives with the Reno Police Department were investigating Miller in connection with sales of methamphetamine and heroin in the Reno area.

Officials said an undercover operation was conducted, where Miller was caught selling ten grams of meth and eight grams of heroin. They said after he was arrested, Miller was released on supervised bail. Officials said he was arrested a few weeks later after detectives determined Miller tracked down a witness in the case, severely beat him and threatened him not to come to court and testify.
