Washoe County Sheriff's office says rescue volunteers pulled a stranded climber from Hunter Creek Trail's "Gully" on Sunday.Â
Officials say a team of a dozen Washoe County Search and Rescue and HASTY volunteers, as well as Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue responded to a call for a stranded 27-year-old climber.
Officials pulled him from Hunter Creek Trail's "Gully" up to Point 6247.
WCSO says the man is an experienced climber but didn't have the proper equipment for the climb.Â
"He found himself stuck in the middle of the hill unable to go up and unable to go down," WCSO wrote on Twitter.
The volunteers used a high low rope rescue and pulled the man back onto the trail around 3:00 p.m.Â
Volunteers described the incident as an "absolutely difficult rescue."Â
