The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is planning to close Sun Valley Boulevard between Middle Fork Drive and Leon Drive beginning Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24.
They say the closure is part of the RTC’s Sun Valley Boulevard Project.
RTC says during the closure, the following detours will be in place:
- Northbound traffic traveling along Sun Valley Boulevard will be detoured right at Middle Fork Drive, left at Smokey Canyon Drive, left at Leon Drive, and right back onto Sun Valley Boulevard.
- Southbound traffic traveling along Sun Valley Boulevard will be detoured right onto Leon Drive, left at Middle Fork Drive, left at Amargosa Drive, left at Middle Fork Drive, and right back onto Sun Valley Boulevard
They would like to remind drivers to follow the 25-mile-per-hour speed limit within residential areas, and use caution in and around the construction zone for everyone’s safety.
RTC says during the closure, construction crews will be installing drainage infrastructure along Sun Valley Boulevard between Middle Fork Drive and Leon Drive.
They say homes located within the closure area will still be accessible.
RTC says drivers will be assisted by flaggers to reach driveways within the closure.
