The Sparks Police Department says crews responded to the 5200 block of Los Altos Parkway on Monday on the report of suspicious item.
Officials said the Consolidated Bomb Squad responded and is processing the item at this time.
They said no structures or personnel are threatened and no evacuations are necessary.
The roads in the area have since reopened.
