Tentative Plan To Develop Lakeridge Tennis Club Site Approved By Planning Commission

UPDATE, March 2021:

The City of Reno Planning Commission met for a virtual conference to discuss the future of the old Lakeridge Tennis Club site on Wednesday evening.

A public comment period was mostly in opposition of the proposed project, which would put a 314-unit condominium subdivision in the area and 100 single-family attached condominiums.

A motion to approve a tentative map and conditional use permit for the development was passed 5-2, with the two voting against citing density concerns.

Traffic impacts were discussed and members of NDOT, RTC and the Reno Fire Department were all present for the discussion.

A traffic study was presented as well as impacts to trees and rezoning concerns.

Original Story, May 2020: Officials with the Lakeridge Tennis Club say the club will not be reopening and will be closing down as of Friday, May 29, terminating all memberships on that day.

In an email, they said the club was sold to Reno Land, and Reno Land proposed to redevelop the property, which was approved by the City of Reno.

Officials said amid the pandemic, the Lakeridge Tennis Club had to close for an undetermined amount of time, but will not be reopening with the transfer of ownership.
