The Sierra Arts Foundation's biggest fundraiser is coming to the Nugget Resort Casino this Friday and brewmasters from around the West Coast will be there.Â
The 21st annual "Brew HaHa" event raised over $34,000 last year for the Sierra Arts Foundation. The money raised helps fund their art education programs for children, concerts for the elderly and local art initiatives.Â
There will be over 100 different craft beers to try and are all donated by the breweries including a local favorite, The Great Basin Brewing Company.Â
"This event will satisfy every beer connoisseur or every beer geek. They are advertising over 100 different beers, however I think it will be a lot more. We are bringing 6-8 beers and we're one brewery and there are quite a few other breweries showing up," said Tom Young, Head Brewmaster at Great Basin.
Event organizers want to make the event about artist interaction from having the brewmasters there to talk about their craft beers to the artist village which gives attendees a chance to shop for local art and talk to the artists themselves.Â
"It's one thing to go to a gallery and look at paintings and look at prints, and paintings, and glass ware, and see what you like as a person but when you are able to talk to the artist about it it is a much stronger connection," said Eric Brooks with the Sierra Arts Foundation.Â
Brew HaHa is Friday, January 29, at the Nugget Resort and Casino. Head to the Nugget's website for more ticket information.Â
