The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says three people were arrested on Thursday morning for drug-related charges.

Officials said around 2:30 a.m., deputies were patrolling US-395 in Minden when they stopped a car for a speeding violation.

They said deputies smelled the strong odor of marijuana from the inside of the car. A narcotics investigation was done, and approximately eight pounds of marijuana, 627 grams of concentrated THC, $2,000 in cash and a Glock-19 handgun were recovered.

19-year-old Joseph Coleman, 19-year-old Erin Sadzak and a 17-year-old boy, all from Reno, were arrested.

Charges ranged from trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, child endangerment and other traffic violation charges.
