Placer County Sheriff's Special Operations Detectives arrested a man in North Auburn, California, on December 7 who faces charges for contacting a child online with the intent to commit sexual acts.
In an online post, the Placer County Sheriff's Department says that 34-year-old Rafael Rios Rico of Carson City was planning to meet up with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl at a location in North Auburn.
When in fact he was met by detectives from the Placer County Sheriff's Office and was quickly taken into custody and booked into the Auburn jail on five counts, including two felony charges for contacting a minor with the intent to commit sex acts and lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.Â
