The Nevada Division of State Parks is inviting people to weigh in on proposed trail projects as it hosts the Recreational Trails Program Advisory Committee Meeting next week.
Members of the public can join the meeting either in person at 901 S. Stewart St. in Carson City or virtually, with public comment accepted at the start of each morning session. Each person will be allowed three minutes to speak.
During the meeting, applicants for trail grants will have 10 minutes to present their projects and five minutes to answer questions from committee members. The Advisory Committee will then make recommendations on which projects should receive funding.
The federally funded Recreational Trails Program is expected to provide roughly $1.2 million in grant funding for motorized and non-motorized trail projects across Nevada, including trail-related education and outreach programs.
Eligible applicants include federal, state, local, and tribal governments, special districts, and nonprofit organizations.
The meeting is scheduled for January 6–7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. People interested in attending virtually can find the link on the Nevada State Parks website.
