More than 500 people remain without power in northwest Reno as of 11:50 p.m., according to NV Energy's outage map.

An earlier estimated time for the restoration of power of 10:45 p.m. was revised to 11:45 p.m. for those still affected.

9:10 P.M. UPDATE:

A power outage in northwest Reno continues to affect more than 500 customers, but has been resolved for more than 3,900 people.

Power is estimated to be restored to those still affected by 10:45 p.m., according to NV Energy's outage map.

The cause of the outage has been identified as a downed pole or wire.

NV Energy is reporting an outage affecting nearly 4,500 people in northwest Reno on Wednesday evening.

The outage is centered northwest of North McCarran Boulevard between West 7th Street and Kings Row, according to the utility company's outage map.

The outage began just after 5 p.m., and there is no estimated time for power to be restored.

The cause of the outage is under investigation.
