A fire that broke out in the North Valleys on Tuesday evening has displaced three people, sending one of them to the hospital, and killing one dog.
It happened on Charlene Drive just after 5 p.m., according to a spokesperson for Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue.
The Reno Fire Department was the first agency on the scene, describing it as a fully involved structure fire.
TMFR also responded to the blaze, which happened in an unincorporated part of Washoe County.
“Judging by the condition of the home, it’s a total loss,” said Adam Mayberry with TMFR.
Three people lived in the home. One of them was taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time, but TMFR says they are stable.
The Red Cross will help those who were displaced by the blaze.
There were multiple dogs in the home as well, one of which died. Another dog was reported missing but returned to the property as firefighters were clearing the scene, according to a spokesperson for the Reno Fire Department.
All other dogs in the home were unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
TMFR wants to remind people to be mindful of the hot and dry fire conditions we are currently experiencing in the area.
