Renown Health is ready to open a new temporary patient care area within the Mill Street parking structure, if the need arises.

The location will serve additional hospitalized patients at Renown Regional Medical Center and allow caregivers to stay on campus, where they have accessibility to existing hospital infrastructure.

"We continue to safely screen, diagnose and care for patients with respiratory illnesses, including those at risk for COVID-19. We have been, and will continue to use, current local, national and international data, analytics, public data sets and predictive modeling."

Based on that data, Renown says it anticipates a surge in "hospital patient volumes over the next several weeks."

The temporary facility includes beds and basic patient care support equipment.

Because of the facility, the parking garage will be closed until further notice.

Patients may park in the 2nd St. parking garage, and family members may pick up their loved ones from the Mill St. valet.
