A man faces several charges after police say he fled the area when officers checked on him for a suspected overdose in Reno.
Police say they responded to the Mill Street location after getting a report of a man who appeared unconscious inside a car near a business last week.
When medics arrived, he started to experience a suspected overdose. When they tried to prevent him from getting back inside the car, he ran away jumping over multiple fences.
A Reno Police drone operator gave officers the man's locations while he continued running until he was found a short time later and taken into custody.
During the investigation, the drone operator also saw the suspect hide something in a landscaped area. Police say it was two pieces of foil containing suspected drug residue. A presumptive field test indicated the substance was fentanyl, with a gross weight of approximately 5.22 grams, including packaging.
They say the man admitted to officers that he had smoked fentanyl and fled because he was afraid he would get into trouble.
45-year-old Joseph Aleman was arrested and now faces charges of:
* Possession of a Controlled Substance
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
* Felon Failed to Register
