I am the incumbent City Councilmember and have been in office for six years.  I am a lawyer who represents small governments and labor unions.  These two jobs provide a considerable amount experience relevant to my re-election.

WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED? 

Growing our public safety departments -- police and fire.

IN JUST A FEW SENTENCES: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FACING RENO, AND HOW WOULD YOU FIX IT? 

The City's budget is structurally set up to fail.  We have a declining revenue stream (property tax) and an increase in personnel and other costs.  This will impair our ability in the future to expand public safety and parks and recreation services.

WHAT’S YOUR PLAN TO HELP EASE THE HOUSING CRUNCH IN RENO?

We have been working on micro issues (zoning changes, expanding ADUs for example) and macro issues (approving more affordable housing; more than 7,000 units) to solve our housing crisis.  This is a global crisis that will require large scale changes in the United States.

I view this job as public service; I already have a career.
