Nevada lawmakers are trying to fight scams with a new bill introduced in the U.S. Senate.

The Stop the Scammers Act would restore Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) funding and reward whistleblowers who report wrongdoing. It comes after the passage of the budget bill, which cut CFPB funding.

Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) introduced Senate Bill 2429 on July 24th where it's been since referred to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

There are 24 listed co-sponsors of the bill including Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV).
