U.S. Senator from Nevada Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nevada) endorsed Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford to be the state's next governor on Thursday.
Her endorsement came in a video post on AG Ford's X page.
"I've watched Attorney General Ford fight for our state," Cortez Masto said in the video. "He has fought for our families, he has taken on big pharma, he has worked to keep our community safe. He ensures our businesses have every opportunity for success, and that is why I am endorsing him for governor."
Cortez Masto also served in the role of Nevada Attorney General before being elected to the U.S. Senate.
Ford is looking to challenge incumbent Republican Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo next year.
He will face a primary challenge from Washoe County Commissioner Alexis Hill, and also possibly from former Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak should he decide to run again.
