Stephanie Phillips and Tony Grady make final push in GOP Senate race

Both Stephanie Phillips and Tony Grady say that the optimal outcome for the Nevada statewide primary on June 11th is to win and advance to challenge Jacky Rosen in November.

The Republican race for the Senate has garnered national attention as Nevada's Senate seat could potentially determine party control of Capitol Hill.

While retired Army captain Sam Brown and former Trump ambassador Jeff Gunter have been the center of attention, we also wanted to take a closer look at some of the other candidates in the race.

Both Tony Grady and Stephanie Phillips say that the optimal outcome for the Nevada statewide primary on June 11th is to win and advance to challenge Jacky Rosen in November.

"Nevadans of every corner of the state know who I am," Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Nevada Tony Grady.

Grady is well-known in Northern Nevada because he resides in Reno. He has had a noteworthy and lengthy career as a U.S. Air Force stealth bomber test pilot, Pentagon military advisor to the president, and small business owner, among other roles.

In 2020, Grady came close to winning the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor, securing victories in 13 out of Nevada's 17 counties.

"I understand the nature of ranching, I understand mining, I understand what the entertainment industry is doing, I understand farming," said Grady.

When Grady and his wife, of 40 years, moved to Reno about a decade ago, he immediately became involved as both the deputy air boss for the Reno air races and a mentor at the University of Nevada Reno Innovation Center.

His platform includes securing the border, promoting economic prosperity, achieving energy independence, supporting pro-life policies, and upholding the Second Amendment.

Grady believes that his experience and skill set make him the best candidate to appeal to a broader range of Nevadans in order to defeat Jacky Rosen in November.

"I am the one who has the best background again, foreign policy, military strategy, an economic instrument of power. I can talk about grand strategy; I can talk about how we can ensure the United States is going to live into the future. I will debate Sam brown; I will debate Jeff Gunter anytime. They had their opportunities; they didn't debate me," said Grady.

Stephanie Phillips is a single mother of two who has lived in Nevada for 31 years. She is a small business owner and also runs a non-profit for children's charity. Phillips says that the COVID-19 pandemic motivated her to run for office as she was not in favor of the response, much like many other Americans.

"When they shut us down, and they told us our businesses were non-essential, they masked us; they told us you need to get a jab in order to keep your job, closed our schools and churches; all of those things were un-constitutional and un-American. And, I didn't recognize the country I was living in," said Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Stephanie Phillips.

Phillips has been on the campaign trail since February and has traveled across the state. While she says it's been exhausting and financially draining, it has been gratifying. Phillips claims she is one of the two candidates selected to go to the border, where she interviewed undocumented immigrants.

"Our tax dollars are going to these illegals, yet we have homeless veterans laying on the street that should not be. And I am one of two candidates in this race, as you probably know, who have been to the border. And I am the only one to interview and speak to illegals," said Phillips.

We did speak with frontrunner Sam Brown more than two weeks ago.
