The Washoe County School District Board of Trustees is expected to discuss several topics at its Tuesday public meeting.
The 2 p.m. meeting will be held inside the WCSD Administration Building at 425 E Ninth Street in Reno.
At the meeting, the Board will hold a ceremonial swearing-in for newly appointed Trustee James “JJ” Phoenix.
Trustees are also expected to discuss the possibility of repurposing the campuses of the current Pine and Traner Middle Schools into either a PreK-8 facility or a PreK-5 facility.
They are also expected to get an update on the Strategic Plan, which includes school safety, high quality instruction, and community partnerships.
Trustees will also hear a presentation and will discuss the priorities of WCSD for the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session based on the approved legislative platform. This includes items such as pre-filed bills that could impact the district and Governor Lombardo’s State of the State Address related to educational matters.
