Middle School students in the Washoe County School District have the opportunity to choose as they enter high school, which gives them a say in their future.

The 'Pathways to High School Success' event, is a family information night, where eighth-grade students and their families will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from all the WCSD high schools, Signature Academies, Career &  Technical Education (CTE) programs, Gifted and Talented (GT), dual credit college opportunities, and much more.

The event will be held on Thursday, September 26 at TMCC Applied Tech Center at 475 Edison Way in Reno from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Washoe County has a vast variety of educational career-oriented programs and areas of study from which local students can choose as they enter high school.

The event allows students and their families the opportunity to meet with teachers, current students, counselors, and administrators from the many schools and gather information about career planning and other programs available for high school students.

There will also be an opportunity for students and their families to speak with instructors, industry professionals, and post-secondary educators to learn about the different programs of distinction or specific areas of study that are available at certain area high schools.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn about the many options available to make high school a truly meaningful experience for your student!
