The Reno Rodeo Association is hosting their annual tournament to benefit the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. The fund was created by the Justin Boot Company is partnership with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women's Professional Rodeo Association to help athletes hurt on the job.
"It's amazing to hear the stories and the people and the cowboys and what they do," said George Combs, General Manager of the Reno Rodeo Association " And when they get down the road and get hurt and they can't pay their bills, it gives them the funds they need to keep going and make the sport as great as it is."
This is the third year the Reno Rodeo Association is hosting a bowling tournament to help the cause. Last year's tournament raised more than $9,000. Teams can register independently or with sponsors -and the competition does get fierce.
"It's fun for the committees because we put a challenge to all of the 58 committees we have in the Association to get their bowling teams together," Combs said. "Last year we had a few 300 games bowled so it gets serious; it'll be fun for people to get involved."
The 101st Reno Rodeo is June 18-27, 2020. https://renorodeo.com/
