Nevada Alumnus Kevin Lucas Earns Top-10 Finish in Web.com Tour Qualifying

RENO, Nev. – Former Nevada Wolf Pack men’s golfer Kevin Lucas finished the final stage of the Web.com Tour qualifying in a tie for eighth place at 24-under par.

Lucas’ tie for eighth place has earned him 12 guaranteed starts for the upcoming 2019 Web.com Tour season. The final stage was held at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz. where Lucas put together four rounds in the 60s, including a 62 in the second round. Lucas played exceptional golf all tournament long, collecting 24 birdies, one eagle and committed just two bogeys in the four rounds.

The Web.com Tour is the developmental tour for the PGA Tour and begins the 2019 season Jan. 13-16 at the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas.

Lucas played two seasons for the Wolf Pack in 2010-11 and 2011-12. He finished his time at Nevada ranked second in career scoring average (72.78) and was a two-time All-WAC selection. During his senior year he won the Pacific Invitational and was the Pack’s top finisher in eight events that season.
