Toy Drive

The holidays have settled into Northern Nevada, and the Reno Aces are again teaming with JAKKS Pacific to send thousands of toys to children and families through a series of December donations.

The effort continues a longtime partnership between friends, Aces Owner Herb Simon and JAKKS Pacific Co-Founder and CEO Stephen Berman, who have worked together for more than a decade to support charities in Northern Nevada and Central Indiana.

This year’s donations involve the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Greater Nevada Credit Union, Ashley’s Toy Closet, and Toys for Tots.

Archie, the team’s mascot, is also set to visit several events, including Shop with the Sheriff and Salvation Army Bell Ringing.

The Aces will host donation pickups and Archie’s appearances throughout the month.

Ashley’s Toy Closet is scheduled to pick up toys on Wednesday, December 10, at 11 a.m. at Greater Nevada Field.

Archie will visit children at Renown Children’s Hospital the same day at 12 p.m. He is set to attend Shop with the Sheriff at the Spanish Springs Walmart from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Toys for Tots will pick up donations on Thursday, December 11, at 10 a.m. at Greater Nevada Field.

Washoe County Sheriff deputies will gather donations at 11 a.m., and Greater Nevada Credit Union will do the same at 12 p.m.

Archie returns Wednesday, December 17, for the Salvation Army Bell Ringing at Scheels from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. He will appear again on Thursday, December 18, at the same location and time.

The team has also partnered with Ashley’s Toy Closet and Children’s Cabinet for toy and clothing drives during each night of Greater Nevada Field’s Home for the Holidays experience. Seven nights remain following its opening weekend.
