President Trump called Georgia Governor Brian Kemp on Saturday, asking Kemp to call a special session to convince state legislators to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's win in the state.
A source familiar with the conversation said Trump wanted Kemp to call a special session to convince state legislators to select their own electors that would support him. Trump also asked for an audit of absentee ballot signatures.Â
According to the source, Kemp said he did not have the authority and denied the request.Â
Governor Kemp wrote on Twitter Saturday that he did ask for a signature audit, and Trump responded, demanding transparency.Â
