The Reno Police Department says they have charged two suspects with burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping after the men attempted to rob a Taco Bell near North Valleys High School.
Police say they responded to an armed robbery in progress around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday inside a Taco Bell at 1110 North Hills Boulevard.
Police say two suspects armed with a handgun had detained the employees at gunpoint after entering the closed restaurant. After one employee escaped out a backdoor, an audible alarm startled the suspects and the two men fled the scene on foot. Officers say they were unable to locate the suspects after arriving on scene.
Police say Washoe County deputies were then dispatched to the Summit Christian Church at 7075 Pyramid Way around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday regarding two suspects siphoning gasoline from church vehicles. Reno police officers arrived on scene and arrested the suspects.
The suspects have been identified as Jamar Jackson, 27, and Anthony Schnider, 24. Police say numerous items of evidentiary value were collected from both crime scenes.
