USDA: Recall of Ready-to-Eat Chicken Nugget Products

The United States Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service says there's been a recall of Perdue Foods, LLC ready-to-eat chicken nugget products.

They said approximately 68,244 pounds of the product was recalled, citing a possible extraneous materials contamination, specifically wood.

They said the ready-to-eat chicken was produced on October 25, 2018. The products recalled are:

  • 22-oz. plastic bag packages of frozen “PERDUE SimplySmart ORGANICS BREADED CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS GLUTEN FREE” with “Best By: Date 10/25/19” and UPC Bar Code “72745-80656” represented on the label.

The product bears the establishment number P-33944 inside the USDA mark of inspection. The items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
