The Washoe County School District says it's time to register your kindergartners for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year!
Officials say in order to register your child, they must be 5-years-old before September 30, 2020. If you don't have access to a computer to complete the registration process, there are computers available at any Washoe County elementary school.
School officials say secretaries will be available, by appointment, to help families complete the registration process beginning Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
Otherwise, the website has step-by-step instructions in both English and Spanish explaining how to register.Â
If you have access to a computer, visit the WCSD registration website.Â
After beginning the registration process online, officials say parents may then call their child's zoned school to make an appointment where they will bring their student's original birth certificate, immunization records and a utility bill that shows the parent or guardian's name and address as proof of residents to the zoned school.
If you aren't sure which school your child is zoned for, then click here. Officials say you may also call any school to ask for help in determining which school your child will be attending.Â
There is also a video if you have additional questions about the registration process.
Due to COVID-19, families will be scheduled for registration appointments. There will be one family allowed at a time in the lobby and social distancing will be required. If you have a mask, officials encourage you to wear it.Â
Officials say staff members will wear masks, sanitize surfaces and observe the health and safety measures before, during and after school visits.Â
